How the Audio Converter works
Convert MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG, Opus, M4A and many other audio formats for free. Extract audio from MP4, WebM, MKV and similar video files, trim a time range, or apply light FFmpeg extras (fade, mono/stereo, loudness). Files remain on your device while the browser performs the conversion, and optional metadata removal helps create a cleaner output.
Fluxed uses a WebAssembly build of FFmpeg, the established media toolkit, inside a worker. The relatively large conversion engine is requested only when you open the audio workflow and begin using it, rather than slowing every Fluxed page. Once cached, it is available for later offline conversions. Choose an output format and quality appropriate for your target: MP3 and AAC are practical for sharing, FLAC preserves lossless audio, and WAV is useful for editing. Drop a video file to strip the picture track and keep only the soundtrack. Optionally set start and end times to cut a clip during conversion, fade edges, force mono/stereo, or run a simple loudnorm pass. Batch mode handles several tracks without a server queue or daily quota. Local processing is especially valuable for voice notes, interview recordings and unreleased music because no third-party conversion service receives the content. Conversion speed varies with duration, codec and your device processor.

Why local browser processing is safer
Traditional cloud converters upload a file to a remote system before processing it. Fluxed processes files locally in your browser instead. Your files stay on your device. No uploads, no tracking, and no account.
Frequently asked questions
Is the audio conversion really free?
Yes. Fluxed has no account, conversion credits, file upload quota or paywall.
Why does the first conversion take longer?
The browser loads the FFmpeg WebAssembly engine on first use. It is then cached for later conversions.
Can I extract audio from a video?
Yes. Drop MP4, WebM, MKV, MOV or AVI and choose an audio output format such as MP3 or M4A.
Can I trim or cut a clip?
Yes. Enter optional start and end times (seconds or mm:ss) before converting. Leave them blank to keep the full file.
