Convert between MP4, WebM, and MKV, or export a short clip as GIF, locally with the same FFmpeg WebAssembly engine used for audio. Encoding in the browser is slow and size-limited; prefer short clips. For soundtrack-only output, use the Audio Converter.
Fluxed reuses the cached FFmpeg WASM build. Long edge is capped near 1280px and files above roughly 300 MB are rejected to protect browser memory. GIF export is stricter (short duration, narrower width, palette encode). Output uses widely available encoders in the stock core build (mpeg4/AAC for MP4/MKV, VP8/Vorbis for WebM, palette GIF). This is a best-effort offline tool, not a studio transcoder. Source format is detected from the dropped file when possible.
Traditional cloud converters upload a file to a remote system before processing it. Fluxed processes files locally in your browser instead. Your files stay on your device. No uploads, no tracking, and no account.
No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser with FFmpeg WASM.
Video encode in WebAssembly is CPU-heavy. Keep clips short and under a few hundred megabytes.
Not as outputs yet. MOV/AVI can be opened as inputs and remuxed/transcoded to MP4, WebM, MKV, or GIF.
Yes. Choose GIF as the target. Only a short, size-capped portion of the clip is encoded.
